Packing Material Must-Haves
Packing Paper: Many people save and use old newspapers for this process. However, remember that the ink on the newsprint never thoroughly dries. So, the goods you wrap in newspapers are most likely going to be blackened by transferred ink and will need cleaning. For items you prefer to keep clean and ink free, it would be best to buy some packing paper from your mover.
Moving Boxes :You'll need many moving boxes in various shapes and sizes. All boxes should be in good condition, and must have covers on them so that they can be closed up and sealed. You can purchase moving boxes from your mover (like USA Moving and Storage) , or collect them from your local grocery and liquor stores. All too often grocery store cartons have the tops removed, but if you have a talk with the store manager he may save you some cartons with the covers still intact. Liquor cartons are excellent packing cartons. They are sturdy, and contain dividers which make them ideal for packing glasses, goblets, vases, etc.
Packing Tape:The best tape for this purpose is plastic tape or duct tape, and they should be at least 1.5 -2 inches wide.
Permanent Markers :This is for marking your packed boxes with information like the contents of the box, "FRAGILE" "THIS SIDE UP", etc.
